Polar Bear Winter Lacrosse Club

 

Purpose of the Winter Lacrosse Club is providing a clinic type exposure to those Peewee’s and Bantam’s interested to the game of lacrosse. Participants will receive instruction in the game skills along with game play. All players must supply a helmet w/cage, elbow pads, rib pads, shoulder pads, lacrosse/hockey gloves, athletic support w/cup or Jill, mouth guard, shorts and running shoes

Location: Gateway Arena (lacrosse/soccer arena)

1717 Gateway Rd.

Dates: Sundays starting October 16, 2011 until March 11,2012

Time: 7:00am to 8:00am  please arrive 20mins early to change…

Cost: $200.00 per player… includes 20 floor sessions and jersey

Open to : 1998’s to 2001’s years

Sport Canada has adopted the LTAD model and has mandated each sport to develop their own sport specific model.  The Canadian Lacrosse Association has finalized their LTAD document.

Different Disciplines of Lacrosse

Box Lacrosse
Box Lacrosse is played on a standard sized arena floor and features 6 players (goaltender and 5 runners) of an 18-20 player team on the floor at one time.

Men’s Field Lacrosse
Men’s Field Lacrosse is played outdoors on a 100 m x 55 m field. Teams consist of 10 players of a team roster of 20-30 players. The team on the field consists of goaltender, attack, midfielders and defense.

Women’s Field Lacrosse
Women’s Field is a quick, free-flowing game which is easy to understand and watch.

Inter-Crosse
Inter-crosse is the newest form of the game. Participants use a molded plastic stick and a soft, air-filled ball.
