2008-2009 Constitution
ARTICLE 1- NAME
1.1 The name of the Association is the "Manitoba Lacrosse Association" and herein the Constitution and By-Laws be
referred to as the "Association".
ARTICLE 2 - HEAD OFFICE
2.1 The head office of the Association is to be located in the City of Winnipeg in the Province of Manitoba.
ARTICLE 3 - JURISDICTION
3.1 The Association is the governing body for the sport of lacrosse in the Province of Manitoba; which includes box,
inter-crosse, men's field and women's field played by members of the Association.
3.2 The Association is recognized by the Canadian Lacrosse Association and Sport Manitoba as the governing body
of amateur lacrosse in Manitoba.
ARTICLE 4 - MISSION AND OBJECTIVES
4.1 The mission of the Association is to develop, promote and administer the game of lacrosse; a sport that provides
opportunities for enjoyment and fair play in the pursuit of individual or group excellence.
4.2 The objectives of the Association are as follows:
a) To foster growth and development of lacrosse in the Province of Manitoba.
b) To administer and set policies governing the sport of lacrosse in Manitoba.
c) To encourage and support the development of the highest standards of skills among players, coaches and officials.
d) To organize Provincial Championships.
e) To be the sole and official representative of Manitoba to any and all other Provincial, National or International lacrosse
governing bodies.
ARTICLE 5 - PURPOSE
5.1 The Manitoba Lacrosse Association is a non-profit organization. The purposes of the Association will be carried out
without purpose of gain for its members and any profits or other accretions to the Association shall be used for
promoting its purposes.
